Bryan Cumby, founder and CEO of Cumby Group, prides himself on being involved in the Austin community, a place where the future is rapidly taking shape. Currently, Austin is marching toward economic progress, thanks to initiatives like Imagine Austin and Opportunity Austin. These are two initiatives that ensure that the city will become one of America’s great cities.
For a city to be great, it’s quite important to bring to life a strong economic activity that ensures business stays great. However, this is not the only thing that makes a great city, shares Bryan Cumby. In Austin, there is a place called the Community First! Village, which is quite the talk of the town.
The village is a 51-acre master-planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. The Community First! Village is a transformative residential program that aims to serve individuals who have been living on the streets while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
This community is a development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a social outreach ministry that initiated the project to respond to chronic homelessness. The beauty of which Mobile Loaves & Fishes started is that it’s all a result of a collaborative effort between a variety of partners, companies, organizations, and families who pitch in whatever they can. No doubt, Bryan Cumby is proud to be a part of this.
The Village provides homeless citizens of Austin a chance to heal, rediscover hope, and restore their dignity. The best part of it all is that they finally have a place to call home.
